PEACE EDUCATION IN ACTION IN KINSHASA πŸ‡¨πŸ‡©

The Global SDG Leadership Network – An Initiative of the International Peace Commission (IPC) has completed a community peace-education activity in Masina Commune, Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Held on 15 August 2026 under the theme “General Introduction to Peace,” the session was organized and facilitated by Williams Fingila Lemba, SDG Representative in Kinshasa.

Local community leaders participated in discussions addressing peacebuilding, tolerance, social dialogue, interfaith harmony, social cohesion and social justice. The activity encouraged participants to recognize their responsibility to promote peaceful coexistence and support the Sustainable Development Goals within their communities.

Participants made individual commitments to promote peace education, encourage dialogue and share what they learned with other communities in Kinshasa and beyond.

Following its review of the report, photographs and four supporting videos, IPC Headquarters formally approved the initiative as Mr. Fingila Lemba’s leadership activity for August 2026.

We commend Mr. Fingila Lemba and everyone who participated in this important local effort.

Peace is not built only through declarations. It is strengthened when leaders bring people together, create space for dialogue and turn shared principles into community action.
